I scheduled 2 moves within a week for my two sons. Richie and Jose came for the first move and Richie and Steve for the second. They arrived promptly and worked so hard. They packed up everything with care and precision and unpacked everything the same way. I had never had movers before and it couldn't have been a better experience. It wasn't expensive either and worth every penny. Highly recommend Gentle Movers.

Since 1987 I have been referring Gentle Movers to friends, family, and business associates, all of whom have enjoyed their experience with this company. My own home has been moved several times by them, as well, and we have always been very happy.

Very good company. Very good movers. Strong. They moved all the laboratory equipment to our new building in Burlington. Nothing broken, noting damaged. Other prices we got was too much. Gentle Movers company did very good job for much less than other company. They brought heavy machine lifters, made it look easy. very professional co. I recommend this company for lab and office moves. They worked day and night to complete work.

I would have given them 7 stars if there was such a thing. They were excellent from their customer service to movers. I had to reschedule a few times due to problems with my apartment. They did so without a complaint. When the movers arrived same upbeat attitude. They got the work done in no time. I ended up paying much less than initially I thought I would need to pay. When the movers were done after 7 hours of hard work they were still smiling. 7 star service.

Two men came over were really professionals. One was from Israel, great guy. I felt like home with them. They were quick. They were running, not walking. Amazing. I was figuring I would pay good 8 hours to move these offices. They got it done in 5.75 hrs. Funny, they actually charged 5.75, not 6. Is it not usually rounded off to the nearest hour? Apparently not with Gentle Movers, they charge what ever it takes to get it done. Hey, who is complaining! I'll be calling again.

Deciding on the right mover is really tough. But I am happy to report that I was able to find a gem thanks to the recommendation of a body at work. From the moment I dialed the moving company's number to the very end of my move, I heard and saw nothing but positive attitude which I value greatly. I love positive people.

When I was telling the salesman that I was moving into a Beacon Hill apartment on the 6th floor with no elevator, the guy's comment was " hurrah, we'll get some real exercise". I saw the same attitude with the actual movers who showed up.

My only criticism, well, more of a recommendation to Gentle Movers is to add women to your crew. The phone is answered by a man, packers are men, movers are men. Come on guys, too much testosterone is not healthy!  You can have at least the packers be women. I think women does so much better job when it comes to packing the fragile china and the pictures. (I don't mean you did a bad job Dex - no criticism to the shape of your hands :) )

I will write more about my pack and move experience as I have time. I thought it was a fun day. I thoroughly enjoyed being with these guys.

By the way, here is a strong recommendation to those who are moving to Beacon Hill, listen to the moving company and don't be cheap like I was; have them get a parking permit for the truck. You absolutely need one. Another recommendation would be to tell the movers when you are reserving the date that the management company needs a certificate of insurance, if that is the case. Thank God my management company's office had Gentle Movers's certificate in their file, otherwise they were not "absolutely, no way-jose" letting the movers in the building.  You know what I mean about the importance of being positive?? This will be another review, another fun short story on my management co. Yes, I will still try to be positive..

We moved with these guys a few months ago from a 2 bedroom to a 3 bedroom house in Brighton. It was a local move but it was all my old furniture; Some of which i didn't care much for and others which were very valuable.

When i called around for quotes they weren't the cheapest movers but a friend of a friend had moved with them and had no problems. unfortunately, they were late (traffic) from the estimated arrival time but i guess that's why it's estimated. Once they got set up they were like work horses especially a guy named Dexter who seemed like he's been doing this all his life. I got nervous when he started lifting boxes that by Husband and I couldn't lift together.

Anyway, in the end i recommend these guys and although the move was a little out of my expected budget it was well worth it because nothing got damaged and it relieved me of all the stress i had about the move which is priceless... well almost.

You Need a Local Mover?

Gentle Movers with a local phone number 617 268 0500 is your local moving company near you located on Boston Street in Boston off Mass Avenue literally five minutes drive from Down Town Boston but can you see Gentle Movers pop up when you type Boston Movers in Google search?

When you search for a local Moving company in your neighborhood, do you actually get a local moving company? Although they say they are local but how do you know if they are really local?

I tried searching for a local moving company in Google myself. You would expect Gentle Movers that is a moving and storage company located in the heart of Boston AND on Boston street should come up in organic searches. Does it? NO. What comes as local moving and storage company is bunch of companies that are not from Boston at all- none.

Unsuspecting public calling these companies thinking they are in Boston and that they are actually a Boston moving company - because in the title with bold letters it says Boston Movers or Boston Moving Co or Local Movers Boston so on. But they are not Boston Movers, they are no where close to Boston either.

Why is it important for the consumer that when companies advertise as Boston Movers they need actually be located in Boston, MA? It is because all moving companies charge customers travel time mandated by the State licensing board. Movers who actually do the move get paid for those hours as part of their compensation. These numbers reflected on the total hours charged to the consumer.

When these outside Boston area movers call themselves Boston Movers driving from outside Boston, they are charging all that time to the consumer. This is why it is important for the moving clientele to understand the importance of where a moving company actually is located.

It does save money to the consumer to hire a local moving company. One other big benefit of hiring a local moving company is that you support the local economy, you support your neighbors who work for these local moving companies. Every moving company employs movers and drivers mostly from their own neighborhoods. Gentle Movers has employed thousands and thousands of locals over the years. This tradition still continues.

Those consumers who are looking for Local movers because they love their neighborhoods and want to support their neighbors need to have access to the list of local movers when they are searching in Google. Unfortunately Google paves the way for this misleading by showing companies who pay the big bucks to advertise as Boston Movers when in fact they are not.

Want local movers? Movers near you? Moving companies in your town or city? It is time we all send a message to Google to get its act together to stop this misleading of unsuspecting consumers. When we want local movers give us list of local movers in Boston!
